Six Summits Challenge


The Six Summits Challenge is a walking-based, 36 mile expedition, held across the Shropshire Hills for Scouts and Explorers. The event is held annually over the Bank Holiday weekend at the start of May(3 days) and will see the young people starting the expedition on the Welsh border, camping for two nights and finishing on Clee Hill just outside Ludlow.

Within the Challenge, there are two awards. Training and Expedition. At each stage of the award system, the Scouts and Explorers will be expected to build on their knowledge of navigation, camping skills and teamwork. At the end of the 3-day expedition, the scouts will have gained their Navigation stage 3 badge and Expedition Challenge award badge.  Explorers will also gain their Navigation stage 3 badge.

The cost of the event is £12.50 and you can apply at from the 1st of January 2018. Applications will close on Monday 19th March 2018.

Teams are limited to a minimum of 4 and maximum of 8 people. A maximum of 25 teams are allowed on the event so applying early is encouraged and your team place will only be secured once payment has been received.
