Seasons Greetings at this festive time of year
2016 has been another fantastic year for Solihull Scouts:
It Saw hundreds of young people receiving their Chief Scout Awards as well as 10 receiving their Queen Scout Award and Duke of Edinburgh Award from Alex Peace-Gadsby, Chief Commissioner of England, at the Solihull awards night along with other awards.
Shirley Brooks was appointed the New County Commissioner for Solihull.
Operation Chameleon, Night Hike and Six summits were another huge success.
Ten young adults from Solihull have been selected to go to the 15th World Scout Moot in Iceland next year.
From the Census we know that Scouting in Solihull has increased across all sections, with 118 girls joining us, which is one of the biggest growths across the Country.
Smith Wood Scout Group was started, with a mass investiture of Cubs and Beavers outside the Think Tank in Birmingham.
Lastly, the Cubs have had a spectacular year celebration Cubs100 with trips to watch the Jungle Book, to Blackpool and some went to France, as well as all the other adventurous activities they do week in week out. With all this coming down to a massive birthday party on 16-12-16 with Cubs up and down the country renewing their promise at 19:16 together.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the leaders and supporters of Scouting for all their hard work over the year and we hope you have a lovely holiday of rest, ready for all the exciting adventures that 2017 will bring, including Discovery 2017 (County Camp).
Got a story to tell, then please will in this form HERE and we’ll be in touch.
